Frequently asked questions
Alopecia is the technical term for hair loss. There are many types of alopecia: androgenetic alopecia (male and female hair loss), alopecia totalis, alopecia universalis, alopecia areata. It is an autoimmune disease.
It can be the result of heredity, hormonal changes, disease or a normal part of aging. A little hair loss is normal for everyone, but more common in men.Hereditary hair loss with age is the most common cause of baldness.
The best treatment varies from person to person. For this reason, we welcome each of our patients to our clinic for a free hair analysis. We select the most appropriate FUE, DHI and other methods based on parameters such as number of grafts, hair structure and tissue quality.
Although anyone over the age of 18 can have a hair transplant, it is recommended not to have a transplant until the age of 25. Younger men may not be the best candidates as their hair loss pattern is not yet fully determined.
Hair transplantation is usually recommended only when other hair loss treatment options have been unsuccessful and hair loss results in significant hair loss and a negative impact on quality of life. It is important that the cause of hair loss is identified and treated before hair transplantation is considered.
